Many XR riders doesn't like the offroad performance of the old school XR OEM front fork. By the years, chassis technology has developed further and the todays standard isn't comparable anymore with the outdated standard of the the eighties and nineties. The SHOWA upside-down forks from the HONDA CRF motocross models are an alternative. These forks are available as used ones in large numbers and in good condition and they offer excellent performance. Furthermore quite every motocross suspension specialist is able to fine tune them following your specific demands. So with this fork conversion kit you can easily install such a CRF fork into your XR and beam it to another level.
- you have to purchase a SHOWA CRF front fork including the triple clamps separatly
- the kit contains a specially made steering stem shaft (turned part made, of aircraft aluminum) and a set of steering stem bearings
- at the CRF fork, you have to substitute the steering stem shaft at the lower triple clamp by the steering stem shaft of this kit. For monuting it into the XR, please use the attached steering stem bearing. For fisxing the upper triple clamp, please use both steering stem nuts of your XR OEM fork.
